The Witherwild Calendar
Fifty years ago, when Nikta was maimed by the Archmage Phylax, her reaping eye was torn from her, and with it the turning of the seasons. Time itself was altered. Fanewick and Haven were locked in eternal spring, and the sun and moon ceased their familiar daily rising and setting.
In the Witherwild, Suntide now floods the hills, fields, and forests with light for an entire week before finally setting. Only then does Moontide take hold, casting the world into its powerful glow for another full week.
Persons have adapted to this change differently than non-persons. Though their circadian rhythms remain unchanged, they still feel the need to measure and make sense of time’s passage. Without seasons, there can be no years. Instead, every 168 hours the Sun rises or sets, alternately revealing and obscuring the Moon.
In the wake of the Maiming, Wicklings and Havenites devised a new calendar. It is built upon a 28-day “month,” composed of two cycles of Suntide and two cycles of Moontide. Notably, the Moon now passes through its phases far more quickly than it once did.
Those who dwell in the Witherwild now reckon time only in months and the days within them. The name of each day of the week appears under the day's number below, followed by the Moon's phase.

"The day and night cycle occurs weekly, meaning the sun rises for an entire week before setting into a nighttime of the same length. This has an impact on everything from agriculture to trade, as many merchants refuse to travel through the night. But this cycle doesn’t just affect Wicklings, it’s dictated how Fanewick’s wondrous ecology has evolved. Days and nights are accompanied by entirely different natural soundscapes as Fanewick’s nocturnal denizens sleep through the long days and stalk the woods in times of darkness while their diurnal counterparts sleep. The plants similarly live on this strange day-night loop, and many live out their entire life cycles in a week. Sun rose vines make a thorny ascent to the top of the tree canopy over the course of the week, only to wilt under the light of the moon. Conversely, night bloom, a bioluminescent flower that emits the smell of burnt sugar and decay, only blossoms when evening falls, illuminating patches of forest—a godsend to anyone forced to travel in the dark." - from The Witherwild Campaign Frame, pp. 259 of the Daggerheart Core Rule Book
